Mitas are introducing VF HC 2000 tyres for large tractors and VF HC 1000 for sprayers

Prague, November 25, 2014 – Mitas starts sales of Very High Flexion (VF) tyres on worldwide markets. The VF tyre product line plays key role in Mitas Premium product offer which is replacing Continental branded tyres on machinery produced from January 2015. For high-horsepower tractors Mitas released VF 380/95R38 HC 2000 and VF 480/95R50 HC 2000. For sprayer applications Mitas unveiled the VF 380/90R46 HC 1000. In December 2014, Mitas will extend the range and introduce additional sizes of HC 2000, namely VF 600/70R30 and VF 710/70R42.

“The Very High Flexion tyre range extension proves Mitas' competence in developing tyres for the largest and most demanding of machinery segments. VF tyres are the backbone of Mitas Premium product offer,” said Andrew Mabin, Mitas’ marketing and sales director. “Mitas developed the Very High Flexion tyres to meet the demand of increased load and speed required by the highest horsepower agricultural machinery.”

Mitas is also the only tyre manufacturer to supply Very High Flexion tyres for new Case IH Magnum™ Rowtrac™ tractor. The VF 380/95R38 HC 2000 tyre was shown on the Magnum Rowtrac when the tractor was unveiled to the media in the city of Nevada, Iowa. Mitas VF HC 2000 tyres are a standard fitment on Case IH Magnum Rowtrac tractors.

The Very High Flexion tyre's main advantage is maintaining constant tyre pressure at any speed. The VF's larger footprint leads to less soil compaction and increased mobility under difficult and wet soil conditions. For instance the VF HC 2000 tyre has a ‘B’ speed category, allowing speeds of up to 50 km/h with a maximum load of 7750 kg. When compared with the standard tyre the VF tyre enables 40% more load. The special feature of the Mitas VF rated tyres is the highly flexible sidewall allowing for extended footprint competing shoulder to shoulder with the increasingly popular rubber tracks. Very High Flexion tyres are produced at the Mitas factory in Charles City, Iowa and Otrokovice, CZ.

“Currently, the Very High Flexion tyre for harvesters is under development. It will be marked VF HC 3000, and Mitas will introduce it at the beginning of 2015,” said Pavel Kott, Mitas' agricultural tyres product manager.
